Description
This Painting was inspired during an all day Christmas meditation on December 23, 2011 and by the chant, "Cloud Colored Christ Come" written by Paramhansa Yogananda as well as the song, "Dark Eyes" written by Swami Kriyananda.
This painting of Jesus Christ, the white lamb, Mary, the dove, trees, earth, other planets, stars and clouds represent, each of our own search and aspiration for truth and understanding. Mary is seen with her hands over her heart as she prays for the world and those who live in the world. Mary feels great empathy and compassion for those in the world who are suffering, all animals, humans, all creatures alike. With great compassion and a certain sadness, of not understanding why we all have to go through so much pain, she offers this up to her own higher self, or God. Determined that so many souls, deserve so much more, and with a great desire to see many people lifted out of their suffering, with dynamic will and concentration of prayer she gives all these things to God, the one who created us and all these things. Mary saying to herself, "Lord, I cannot comfort all of these people, all of these things, but you, who created us, can give them comfort and I command you to do so, for my heart cannot handle so much pain. In her offering, a light came from the clouds, that was Jesus Christ. Jesus lent down to touch and care for all those things that Mary offered to Him, with deep concern and care in his heart He took them all under His wing. He offered her and all else, understanding, comfort, and assurance that He is watching and caring for us all and the more we include Him in our lives, the more He can help us. The white lamb that Jesus is holding represents every individual soul who is in need, the lamb represents each one of us, whether we are in pain, suffering or not. In the painting, Jesus is not facing the world because he is giving energy to us as individuals and reminding us that there is so much more, beyond what this world has to offer. He is reminding us that we are not these little bodies, we are not even our minds, we are spirit and we are one, and we are each the very center of the universe. He is reminding us that we are never alone.
Words to the Song, "Dark Eyes"
I've known them forever:
They've haunted my slumber,
And called to me out of the deeps of space.
The love that they promise
Has helped me remember
Another time, a caring embrace.
2. Dark eyes in the morning,
Dark eyes in the evening,
Dark eyes in the starlight at end of day:
Dark eyes that speak silence,
They whisper, Come find me:
You'll never know true love, if you stay.
Now I seek them in the wintertime,
Oh, I seek them in the spring:
Those two dark eyes draw my heart away
To where sun and moon sing!
I laugh now in the summertime,
When ripples on the river play.
I laugh, soaring with the meadowlarks.
Love has made my heart gay.
