Description

The Inspiration of this painting came from two places.

The first was from me wanting to understand the deeper meaning of "Discrimination" and how one can perfect this quality
within themselves. To focus on this quality I practiced an affirmation on discrimination from the book,
"Affirmations for Self Healing"

Affirmation:
"Resolutely I quell my inclinations, that my mind be open to the wisdom-guidance of my soul."

As I repeated this affirmation over and over, in attempt to memorize it, I found myself changing the words to something like,
"resolutely I embrace my inclinations..!" Once I realized this, I was more inclined to get it right. Not knowing how to
change my consciousness, I offered the question up into the inspiration (knowing that there was a solution) and waited for
a response. Quite quickly an answer came to me, "Ashleigh, you must relax your body, mind and soul first and only then you
can begin to practice true discrimination." So I began to practice "corpse pose" (A yoga posture, called deep relaxation) . With each breath I inhaled
felt that I was offering all of myself up into the hands of Divine Mother, and with each exhale I relaxed further and
further letting go of all of "my stuff" of how I thought things should be. Then I began to feel myself open up to the
presence of Truth within me.

I had this beautiful image of someone relaxing into a flower bed a Iris's joyfully surrendering all that they are into God's
hands, letting go of all set definitions, judgements about there self and about others. In this practice of surrender I found

that I did not fall downward in delusion and misunderstanding, but rouse up out of the clouds of delusion, to see things
as they really are, and this granted me a great sense of freedom.

Prayer:

Guide me, Lord, that in all things I know Thy will, for I know that only by Thy will are all things led to perfection.

The second inspiration came while painting the painting, I was inspired to listen to a guided meditation by Nayaswami Kriyananda
"The Land of Mystery" from his book, "Meditation for Starters" (this book comes with a CD) and from this a painting was given
to me. A blessing for me to share it with you.
